This year of redistricting has already seen a Harlem legend, Rep. Charles Rangel, battle to retain his seat on new territory in the Bronx, and Democrats in the state Senate go to court to block a plan for how the Republican majority proposed to redraw districts. Now it’s time for the city to look at its own lines–those that define our 51 City Council districts.
The commission that will conduct that redistricting is beginning a series of public hearings next week, starting with one on Monday the 13th at 5 p.m. in Brooklyn Borough Hall at 209 Joralemon Street.
