Urban Pathways and Care for the Homeless will host its annual Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day observance on Wednesday.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m.: The City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet regarding several applications. More here.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s committees on Oversight and Investigations, General Welfare and Contracts will hold a joint oversight hearing on mayoral oversight of city-funded homeless shelter providers. More here.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Land Use will meet regarding a planned $200 million Empire State Development Corp. grant to support the redevelopment of the long-vacant Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx. More here.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Fire and Emergency Management will hold an oversight hearing on the city’s response to flash floods, including a bill that would create a pilot shelter program during flooding events. More here.

  • Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m.: Care For the Homeless and Urban Pathways will host its annual Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day observance. A meal will be served at 4:30, followed by the program at 5:30. More here.

  • Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m.: Tenants & Neighbors will host a Zoom workshop on applying for the Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) and the Disability Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE). More here.
