Welcome to City Limits’ NYC Housing Calendar, a weekly feature where we round up the latest housing and land use-related events and hearings, as well as upcoming affordable housing lotteries that are ending soon. Upcoming Housing and Land Use-Related Events:

  • Thursday, March 23 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s committee on Zoning and Franchises will hold a hearing related to zoning applications in Queens. More here.
  • Thursday, March 23 at 3 p.m.: NYCHA’s Clean Energy Academy will hold an information session about the program, which trains NYCHA residents in green jobs. More here.
  • Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m.: The Bronx Defenders will host a public forum on access to affordable housing in The Bronx, including information on how residents can form tenants associations and access legal support. More here.
  • Monday, March 27 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s committees on Housing and Buildings and General Welfare will hold a joint oversight hearing on the city’s Right to Counsel law. More here.
  • Monday, March 27 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Department of City Planning will hold a public meeting; the agenda has not yet been posted. More here.
  • Monday, March 27 at 6 p.m.: The Municipal Art Society and Regional Plan Association will host a presentation and discussion on the City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) process, which is used to determine the impact of a potential development. More here.
  • Tuesday, March 28 at 9:30 a.m.: The NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission will hold a public hearing.  More here.

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.

  • Ruby Apartments, Manhattan, for households earning between $48,138 – $187,330
  • 82 4th Avenue Apartments, Brooklyn for households earning between $107,178 – $156,130
