Farmer's Market Today on Mosholu

The North Central Bronx Farmer’s Market started up today at the corner or West Mosholu Parkway North and Jerome Avenue (on the path toward Clinton High School). It will be every Wednesday through the summer. Check it out. We’re going to have a comprehensive list of Bronx farmer’s markets up here shortly.

Bronx mom Carmen Huertas rejected the opportunity to take a manslaughter plea yesterday for killing 11-year-old Leandra Rosado in a drunk driving accident. If Huertas does not take the plea by Aug. 10, she will go to trial.Attorney General Andrew Cuomo sued Bronx landlords for not showing available units to black applicants. Cuomo says the discrimination is a violation of housing and civil rights laws.Mavon Chapman, 19, was gunned down at E. 149th St. and Morris Ave.

There have been some recent comments charging, or alluding to, bias in our coverage of the 33rd Senate District race. In the interest of full disclosure and transparency, I did publish an Editor’s Note in the Norwood News about this recently but I see now that I should post something here, too.The anonymous commenter in a previous post is correct. My wife, Margaret Groarke, is a supporter and volunteer in the campaign of Desiree Pilgrim-Hunter. I, however, do not support any candidate. Nor does the Norwood News, the Tremont Tribune, the Mount Hope Monitor or this blog.
