At least four candidates in the crowded Democratic primary to replace retiring Bronx Rep. Jose Serrano say there were irregularities in Primary Day voting.
Despite the pandemic, voters in Bronx’s heavily-Latino Congressional District 15 showed up to cast ballots in person.
As always, of course, now it’s up to the voters. Here are the basics.
‘We need fighters in Congress who understand our struggles, shine light on them, and fix them.’
‘I believe in Michael Blake for Congress because he believes in The Bronx.’
‘I think after years of little change it would be wise to pick someone who could be the vaccine of hope and change the neighborhood so desperately needs.’
‘Pabon might be running for Congress but he is not a politician. You can hear the difference when he speaks from the heart and they read from a script.’
‘Lopez understands that racism and homophobia doesn’t just stem from individual prejudices, but from something more foundational: the inherently oppressive nature of capitalism as designed by its White male founders.’
‘We do not need to be told which candidates are viable by people who do not live here, and do not understand the priorities of the people in the district.’
‘There are 12 candidates running for this seat, but every indicator says that the race has narrowed and either Rev. Ruben Diaz Sr. or Torres will win.’
