There are now two overlapping but distinct proposals for how to rezone East Harlem. One is the de Blasio administration’s vision. The other is the East Harlem Neighborhood Plan, the product of a collaboration between some community organizations and Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.
On Thursday night, the East Harlem Neighborhood Plan steering committee hosted a public forum to discuss the city’s plan. It was marked by strong protests from two different community organizations. Read our coverage of the event here.

Was there &part of c.v.h. action…and basically we’re saying enough…you know what we want…its low income,and real affordability for those working class that’s really being phased out of the community & to fixing nycha…not for them to pick what suits them out of the east Harlem plan…brovo to all that participants…
