Journalist Sunny Nagpaul joins the nonprofit newsroom as a full-time reporter covering public housing and NYCHA.

City Limits on Friday announced a new addition to its editorial team, as journalist Sunny Nagpaul joins the nonprofit newsroom as a full-time reporter covering the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the largest public housing community in the country.
Nagpaul, a writer and filmmaker, is a former Tow Journalism Fellow and production coordinator at FRONTLINE PBS. She’s also reported for Fortune Magazine, the Baltimore Banner and Documented, among other outlets, and earned her master’s degree at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY in 2023.
“City Limits is thrilled to welcome Sunny to our team, where she’ll produce vital reporting for the more than 500,000 New Yorkers who call NYCHA home,” Executive Editor Jeanmarie Evelly said Friday.
Founded in 1976, City Limits is an award-winning newsroom committed to elevating diverse voices for a connected, affordable New York. Building on its decades of reporting on housing and homelessness, the outlet launched City Within a City in 2022—a project dedicated exclusively to covering NYCHA and its residents, with support from the New York Community Trust.
