Upcoming housing and land use-related events:
- Tuesday, May 5 at 9:30 a.m.: The Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet to consider several land use applications, including whether or not to allow demolition of the West Park Presbyterian Church at 165 West 86th St. More here.
- Tuesday, May 5 at 6 p.m.: The Department of Housing, Preservation and Development will host an online webinar for tenants about what to expect in housing court and how to use the court to compel an owner to improve housing conditions. More here.
- Wednesday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Rules, Privileges, Elections, Standards and Ethics will review the mayor’s appointment of Lisa Kersavage as chair of the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC). More here.
- Thursday, May 7, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: City and State will host a summit for policymakers, developers, advocates, and community leaders on affordable housing in New York. More here.
- Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m.: The Department of Housing, Preservation and Development will host an online webinar for building owners to learn how to keep their properties free of pests and mold. More here.
- Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m.:The Rent Guidelines Board will meet to cast a preliminary vote on whether to adjust rents for rent stabilized apartments. The meeting will be held at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in Long Island City, Queens. Doors open at 6 p.m. More here.
- Thursday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m.: NHS Brooklyn, NYC Housing Connect, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud and Councilmember Chris Banks will host a webinar on how to apply for the city’s affordable housing lotteries. More here.
- Monday, May 11 at 1 p.m.: The City Planning Commission will hold a public review session; the agenda is not yet available. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
- 38-16 Crescent Street Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $81,223 – $116,640 (last day to apply is 5/6)
- Urban Horizons (waiting list), Bronx, for households earning between $51,875 – $120,540 (last day to apply is 5/6)
- 2171 Frederick Douglass, Manhattan, for households earning between $124,286 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 5/8)
- 2404 Cortelyou Road Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $98,195 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 5/8)
- La Olazul, Bronx, for households earning between $47,486 – $105,000 (last day to apply is 5/8)
- Eight80 BK, Brooklyn, for households earning between $38,538 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 5/8)
- 166-13 91st Avenue Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $75,943 – $168,480 (last day to apply is 5/11)
- Bedford Beverly Phase 2, Brooklyn, for households earning between $103,303 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 5/11)
