Upcoming housing and land use-related events:
- Monday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m.: The City Planning Commission will meet to review the following land use applications: 515 West 57th Street Rezoning, St. Joseph by the Sea Special Permit, 138-23 Queens Boulevard Rezoning, and 57th Drive Demapping. More here.
- Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m.: NHS Brooklyn will host on online webinar for first-time homebuyers. More here.
- Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will vote on the following land use applications: Sojourner Truth – Mapes Rezoning, 289 Kent Avenue Rezoning, Fort Hamilton Mews Rezoning, and 69-67 108th Street Rezoning. The Commission will hold public hearings on the following: Con Edison Permanent Easement Gateway Microtunnel, 108-05 68th Road Rezoning, and 100-12 Queens Boulevard Rezoning. More here.
- Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 10:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings, Resiliency and Dispositions will meet regarding the Queens CD 2 Walk to Park Site Selection/Acquisition, in which the city seeks approval for the acquisition and site selection of privately-owned properties for future park development to close the walk to park gap in Community District 2, Queens. - Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet regarding the following land use applications: 200 Kent Avenue Rezoning, Flatiron NoMad Major Concessions, 47-03 108th Street Rezoning, 815 Hutchinson River Parkway Rezoning, 862-868 Kent Avenue, 158-06 Northern Boulevard, and 132 Melrose Street Rezoning. - Thursday, Aug. 13 at 9 a.m.: The Bronx Chamber of Commerce will host the Bronx Real Estate & Housing Agency Forum to connect Bronx property owners, managers and housing professionals directly to two of the city agencies that regulate housing and buildings. More here.
- Thursday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure will meet regarding several bills related to requirements for sidewalk cafes. More here.
- Thursday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Land Use will meet regarding the following land use applications: Queens CD 2 Walk to Park Site Selection/Acquisition, 200 Kent Avenue Rezoning, Flatiron NoMad Major Concessions, and 47-03 108th Street Rezoning. More here.
- Thursday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m.: State Sen. Jose M. Serrano and Manhattan Legal Services will host a virtual housing assistance workshop to share information on CityFHEPS, One Shot Deals and other programs. More here.
- Saturday, Aug. 15, 2 to 5 p.m.: Chhaya is bringing renters, homeowners, and homebuyers together with housing information, services, agencies, and community resources. The fair is free and open to all, and will be held in the Leo Kearns Parking Lot in South Richmond Hill. More here.
- Monday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m.: The Office of New York State Senator Lea Webb will host a “Know Your Rights” webinar to help New Yorkers navigate their utility bills. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
- 1760 3rd Avenue Residence, Manhattan, for households earning between $45,532 – $91,620 (last day to apply is 8/10)
- 2246 Bathgate Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $75,840 – $108,560 (last day to apply is 8/12)
- 3312-3314 Decatur Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $96,755 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 8/13)
- Green Manor of Jamaica Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $81,566 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 8/13)
- 733 Lincoln Place Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $126,412 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 8/17)
- 2838 & 2840 Webb Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $106,903 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 8/17)
