Upcoming housing and land use-related events:
- Tuesday, April 21 at 9:30 a.m.: The Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet. More here.
- Wednesday, April 22 at 11 a.m.: The City Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet regarding a rezoning application for 147-14 Northern Boulevard in Queens, and a sidewalk cafe application for Denino’s at 93 MacDougal St. in Manhattan. More here.
- Wednesday, April 22 at 6 p.m.: Resilient Red Hook will host an Earth Day webinar on the role of freight transportation in resiliency along the Brooklyn waterfront. More here.
- Wednesday, April 22 at 6 p.m.: NYS Tenant Bloc and the Met Council on Housing will host a Tenant Town Hall with Mamdani administration officials; both in-person and virtual options available. More here.
- Thursday, April 23 at 9:45 a.m.: The Rent Guidelines Board, which considers annual rent adjustments for tenants in rent stabilized apartments, will hold a public meeting to will hear testimony from invited landlord and tenant groups. More here.
- Thursday, April 23 at 10 a.m.: The City Council’s Committee on Veterans will meet about a bill that would requiring the city to submit reports on veteran preference in Mitchell-Lama developments. More here.
- Thursday, April 23 at 6 p.m.: The Department of Buildings will host a workshop for religious organizations looking to develop housing on their properties. More here.
- Saturday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m.: NYCHA will host its annual Farms & Gardens Summit, a day of workshops and networking for residents who cultivate their green spaces (or want to start). More here.
- Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Manhattan Community Board 10 will host “Future of Housing in Harlem: A Community Housing Forum.” More here.
- Monday, April 27 at 9:30 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will hold a review session. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
- 105 Hawthorne Street Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $75,772 – $103,680 (last day to apply is 4/21)
- Gail P. Duke Senior Residence, Brooklyn, for households earning up to $72,900 (last day to apply is 4/24)
- Forte Living, Manhattan, for households earning between $41,589 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 4/27)
