Go to OTDA.NY.GOV. All the info you need is there as well as a list of organizations that will work with you. If you have trouble and are in NYC, Dial 311.

The city needs to order NYCHA to make necessary repairs in the homes of the thousands of apartments that they recklessly neglected. There is no way housing conditions are gonna improved if they receive the back payment of rent

There were enormous arrears balances owed to NYCHA prior to COVID. The money to address NYCHA’s capital needs can only be allocated by Congress, not the City. Do you think the City has $40 billion on hand? It’s up to the federal government, no matter what the City orders NYCHA to do. Or convert everything to RAD.

For anyone in need of rental assistance within NY state, you can find more about applying for ERAP here: https://otda.ny.gov/programs/emergency-rental-assistance/

If you live in New York City and need help applying, you can find a list of organizations to assist you here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/hra/help/new-york-emergency-rental-assistance-program-erap.page

[email protected] that email address is only where you send your application number, date of birth etc to once you have completed the Tenant portion of the ERAP application. It alerts NYCHA that they have to submit their portion. That is an email address Not a website.

I been applied, emailed NYCHA twice and they are still going over documents that are not hard to understand or process. This is a setup. Let me try and just pay this off myself

I have already sent my application number and information requested of me to the portal or website NYCHA provided in the letter they sent me in all the languages. I have done this twice now, but I have not received any confirmation that it was received. Today I tried going into the Self-Service Portal at: https://selfserve.nycha.info/. and checked on the consent box, typed my name and today’s date as requested so NYCHA can forward their documents to ERAP along with my application number which I provided to them so that my application can be accepted. I don’t know what else I can do to get someone to help me. I have called NYCHA but all I get is the runaround and I’ve spoken to my Management Agent but no one seems to be able to give me a straight answer. I’d appreciate it if someone can offer some wisdom here. Thanks
