    It is not accurate to say that “spot rezonings just east of the project site sparked the broader Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan.” The spot rezonings themselves were precipitated by Brooklyn Community Board 8’s M-CROWN plan begun in 2014, which was later expanded by Council Member Hudson into AAMUP in 2023.

      Fair point, Gib Veconi. It would’ve been more precise to describe the whole sequence, as I have in other coverage. But my aim, near the end of a long article, was to briefly highlight the growing demand for housing in the area.
