Jarrett Murphy

Jarrett, City Limits' editor-at-large, has been with City Limits since February 2007. He served as editor-in-chief/executive editor from April 2010 until early 2021. He grew up in New Britain, Connecticut, graduated from Fordham University in the Bronx, and later received a diploma in public financial policy from the London School of Economics and a masters in economics from the New School. Before coming to City Limits, he worked at WFUV-FM, the Hartford Advocate, CBSNews.com and the Village Voice. Jarrett won the 2007 James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism, the 2007 PASS Award from the National Council on Crime and Delinquency and the Deadline Club's 2011 award for best coverage of issues affecting minority groups. A little league coach and the bass player/vocalist for Fort Indy, a rock band, he lives in the Norwood section of the Bronx with his wife and two sons.
