Sports betting yes and the sooner the better. Casinos maybe. Limit casinos to Manhattan and possibly outer borough locations like Coney Island if local residents approve.

I love the idea of coney island housing the casinos. Would bring jobs to a desperate part of the city.

Why not casinos in The Bronx?
Yankee Stadium already hosts a Hard Rock sports bar.

Possibly, but I believe the laws-as they stand in NY-only allow for one gambling site per county. So I’m sure when Yankee Stadium allows gambling at the ballpark, and you know they will, you can’t have a casino in The Bronx. By the way, I think the VLT facility at Aqueduct currently prevents a gambling site at Citifield? But that could change some day I guess?

I think the laws in NYS limit gambling to 1 facility per county. Therefore, when gambling becomes legal at Yankee Stadium-and you know it will-the team won’t want gambling in The Bronx; I believe that is what would currently limit gambling at Citified since the VLT at Aqueduct is also in the same county of Queens? Of course that might be changed some day as well.

Thank you very much for the information. This post is truly wonderful. New York could allow VLT facilities to turn into full-fledged casinos and build a new casino in Manhattan with three casino licenses.

That would be more sensibly, but unfortunately the politicians will see 3 new casinos as a bigger revenue boast and leave the VLT facilities as is; Probably to their detriment. (See that now closed VLT at the Monticello Race Track.)

Resorts World (Catskills) has not made a profit since it opened-including each quarter BEFORE the pandemic. Also, I recall they closed the VLT facility at the nearby Monticello Race Track.
Those of us who are old enough to remember when Atlantic City “went casino” think it might be like that here but that was when AC was the only legal game anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard.
Just be careful and don’t let those TV commercials-by lobbyists-make you think that our money problems will be solved.

Wow! Approving 3 casino licenses in NYC seem easy while at other states, getting 1 casino license takes long long long process to be approved.

Good tidings game players, would you say you are here? Do anyone of you appreciates caribbean stud poker on 9winz? It is truly obsolete game, you can play it even on cash. Fundamentally google it! it is unfathomable game, im playing it for clearly forever.

Interesting article, thank you for this! The topic is truly like gambling itself, some will win but some will also lose.

Great article, I do believe we will see more legislations and state side laws for online gambling. Much of it has already happened both in US states and Canada.

Thank you for a very good article. The article talked about many new aspects regarding gambling and casinos in NYC which could also be applicable in many other states and countries. The gambling industry will for sure see a change in the future starting with NYC and slowly in other states as well.

Thanks for the great article. I think that these reforms and changes mentioned in the article could also be introduced in other countries where gambling is regulated by different laws. I don’t know if there is just one and working solution for all countries? Certainly, different laws work differently in different countries and states.
