Solid useful overview, yet a) would be helpful to see some methodologically consistent revenue estimates from the various proposed NYC income, wealth, corporate and luxury property tax levies; and b) this overlooks the huge potential net gains from overall NYC property tax reforms, which among other things carries over historic ‘assessed value’ tax valuations (intended, correctly, to protect longterm residential owners from bring priced out of their homes by ever-rising market-rate taxes) at the point of sale to the new buyers, with the effect over time of assessing multimillion-dollar brownstones and and prewar condos at the same property tax rates as modest rowhouses in outer Brooklyn, Bronx & Queens.
