Upcoming housing and land use-related events:
- Tuesday, March 31 at 8:45 a.m.: Center for an Urban Future will host a panel discussion entitled, “Tapping Real Estate to Help Fund NYC’s Parks,” at The Greene Space in Manhattan. More here if you want to register to attend in person, or here to watch the livestream.
- Tuesday, March 31 at 2 p.m.: The New York State Senate’s Committee on Housing, Construction and Community Development will meet regarding several land use related bills, including legislation that would require landlords of certain housing to share information with tenants about the Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) and Disability Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE) programs. - Tuesday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m.: New York Law School will host a panel discussion called “The Making of A Housing Crisis – And How to Solve It.” More here.
- Wednesday, April 1 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will hold a public review session. More here.
- Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m.: The City Planning Commission will hold a public scoping meeting about a rezoning proposal for Fulton Park, which would allow for the construction of 12 buildings with more than 2,000 apartments at Fulton Street and Utica Avenue in Bed-Stuy. More here.
- Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The office of State Sen. Jabari Brisport will host the Renters & Homeowners Resource Fair for Brooklyn State Senate District 25 at Restoration Plaza (1368 Fulton St.) featuring panels and presentations about deed theft; NYCHA/RAD PACT; transitional & supportive housing, homeownership, and a screening of the documentary Slumlord Millionaire. NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
- 788 Fairmount Place Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $87,738 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 3/31)
- 89-61 162nd Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $62,572 – $175,000 (last day to apply is 4/1)
- 104 Frost Street, Brooklyn, for households earning between $125,212 – $189,540 (last day to apply is 4/1)
- 25-16 37th Avenue Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $93,223 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 4/1)
- 694 Rutland Road Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $119,040 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 4/1)
- 773 East 183 Street Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $75,840 – $116,640 (last day to apply is 4/3)
- Bronx Park South, Bronx, for households earning between $39,155 – $140,000 (last day to apply is 4/3)
- Peninsula Building, Bronx, for households earning between $37,041 – $140,000 (last day to apply is 4/3)
- 3914 15th Avenue Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $121,783 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 4/6)
