    Thank you for writing about the street homeless sweeps. I think it’s important to have a public discussion about this issue, and I’m glad to see that you’re covering it.

    I agree that we need to do more to help the homeless population, and I support initiatives like safe havens and shelters. However, I also think it’s important to address any potential safety concerns that may arise. We have a duty to make sure that everyone in our city is safe and receives the critical outreach and services they need.

    The problem is multiple fold. Housing is a lottery. This city is gambling with people’s lives. That needs to end. We need 100 percent affordable housing not uncertainty. The homeless need to be treated as human beings not criminals as they are treated now in the shelters.
