I can’t attend the rezoning meeting 3/21/18. I have to work. I vote No on the rezoning on Jerome Avenue.

So where will the current residents/businesses be placed while all of this rezoning is taking place? Why isn’t the housing geared specifically for 75% middle, low, and low, low income earners, and 25% for those above middle income? It seems gentrification continues infiltrating across NYC especially in those areas where low income residents reside. Years ago and even present day if you state you live in the Bronx, Harlem, or the LES of Manhattan people gasped after you answered. Now all we see are those new migrants who come in that want to push out ALL the low and low, low native residents permanently.

Another issue is that many supermarkets have closed and the low, and low, low income residents are forced to travel tremendous amount of distances to find healthy sustainable foods at affordable prices yet that are not loaded with MSG, GMO, and high sodium. Small chain supermarkets fight to stay open yet prices keep increasing. Healthy foods (produce, etc.) is not affordable for low and low, low income residents… Second, due to the needed travel for grocery shopping it has pushed elderly and disabled people to have to rely on public transportation which creates added financial hardship, increased physical burdens, added time to shop, and dangerous conditions with shopping carts, carriages, walkers, wheelchairs, on top of the overly crowded MTA when not all train stations have an elevator/escalator to assist them to travel safely.
