Yang is a smart guy who seems to be all over the place with his proposals. Neither Yang nor any of the other democrat candidates offer much for the NYC middle-class.

This article is super unfair. How about talking about how NONE of the other candidates, despite a collective 100 + years of government “service” have introduced a signature policy idea, or made any real lasting contribution to our civic life? Instead, they have come up with a bunch of “impractical, impossible, or downright foolish” progressive jargon expertly calculated to do very little except get pollical club and union endorsements. This is a new time, for new bold ideas. Not every idea will pan out, no doubt, but NYC can’t sleep walk into the next 20 years. Yang 2021!

Oh so unfair! He’s a great guy! Give him a chance! He seems likely to be a worse disaster than de Blasio. How can someone who hasn’t bothered to vote in a mayoral election have the gall to expect voters to go to the polls and elect him? It’s kind of like telling everyone else to quarantine while you take your official limo to your Brooklyn gym one last time. Can’t wait to see him negotiate with the NYPD.

I think his supporters are fantasizing. Albany wields enormous power in NYC and son of Mario still has 2 years. Also NY is not a casino town. We’ve always had better luck with art and sports venues. They attract a more sophisticated group of tourists with deeper pockets and provide more bang for the buck economically. Think of Lincoln center, Broadway and Arthur Ash stadium.
Carisma is not idea driven. Throwing crap on the walk to see what sticks is not policy.
