Opinion: Mayor Adams, Please Ask NYC to Mask Up

    No. Enough is enough. If individuals want to wear a mask, that is their right. But no more ‘masking rules’ from the mayor, governor or anyone else.

    I agree that the Mayor has neglected to maintain concern for the health of the people during what remains a Covid epidemic. it is his responsibility to provide valid information to the public that assists us in making appropriate judgments about protecting our individual health. Only when we have such valid information can we continue to keep the City working and as healthy as possible. As I see it, he is hiding information in the guise of “keeping businesses moving” rather than helping us know how best to make choices that will “keep businesses moving” at optimum. Not reminding the public that simple use of masks can prevent much spread of the most infectious virus to date will not inhibit businesses, but enhance operations in a manner that benefits all. That reminder coming from him is his duty to us all.
