When HPD had the EHV Housing Vouchers there were organizations that had Housing Navigators who helped the clients every step of the way. I know this for a fact because we had a contract for close to 2 years and found homes for several hundred people. The homes were in the 5 boros and various neighborhoods. We reported any landlords that did not want to take the voucher. We helped everyone and did a great job of it. Sadly there was no more funding for the program and we could no longer assist.

HRA’s dysfunction is causing immense pain to voucher holders, landlords, shelter hosts, and agents, damaging the reputation of the entire voucher system.
