Maybe a crack down on pedestrians and cyclists being distracted would increase safety and actually reduce injuries to them.

Interesting point, Tracy. Has that been a factor in some of the crashes involving a motor vehicle and a person on foot or on a bicycle that you are familiar with?

I constantly see bicyclists running red lights at dangerous intersections, zig-zagging on one-way streets, etc. They think they own the road. This is why there is a spike in so many bike-related fatalities. None of this is being mentioned when an incident occurs. NYC is overcrowded, learn to share the road. This is not some small town that you came from, Jarrett.

I was born in Boston, grew up in a small city–New Britain, Conn., (the Hardware City, if you don’t know) and have basically lived in the Bronx since 1994 (although I did spend a total of four years in Hartford, Queens and London UK). Which of those qualifies as a small town, my friend? Let’s hope your descriptions about biker behavior are more accurate than your incredibly misinformed stereotypes about my biography!

Maybe you should stop blaming victims. Cars kill, we should do as much as possible to limit them here in the densest, most transit rich city in America
