Sooooo…. a bunch of lazy reporters ate a press release without criticizing it. And where is the breaking news here?

More than one reporter dug into the details of 535 Carlton and exposed the issues there. Don’t blame the press for this one. The news is that a progressive mayor basically rewrote a corporate press release as his own.

The news is that a progressive mayor basically rewrote a corporate press release as his own.

That would be “progressive” in quotations, not progressive as definition – in our part of the city, we use the term “”faux-gressive” to describe the Mayor, which in my opinion is much more accurate.

I own a brownstone around the corner from 535 Carlton. I rent the 700 sq. ft. one-bed garden floor apartment for $2,300. It’s in great condition with historic detail, a washer/dryer, and a patio. $2,680 for a one bed is simply NOT affordable. Especially when the skinny on this new building is that the apartments are tiny, the noise insulation non-existent, and the heating inadequate.

hi norman: even more ‘telling’ is the lack of the word ‘bloomberg’ in press coverage of ‘affordable’ (luxury city) housing and the scandalous neglect of nycha. even andy has been forced to share the blame but mike is out of the affordable housing crisis equation. if i remember correctly the impetus came with rudy.

Repair existing heating, pointeding, roofing, safety issue, Hire engineer to push upgrades using local vendors. Alternate get a Lefrak or Rudin to handle it. Remove current corruption from process!!
