Longtime residents of New York that have worked and lived in the city are being evicted and displayed from their communities because of greed and gentrification.

I can personally tell you that our shelter system in NYC is a disaster. DHS, BRC, and several other agencies hire the worst individuals to manage these shelters. Just ate the Vanderbilt YMCA shelter on 224 47th street alone, they have put into place “wellness checks” every hour -24 hours a day, 7-days a week. And the clients are suffering sever sleep deprivation, not to mention worsening of mental health issues. This is truly torture at its extreme. The shelter and oversight states that they cannot help the residents because of the tax break it is listed under.
    What a crock of bull!
