Upcoming housing and land use-related events:

• Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet regarding a sidewalk cafe application for Cali Tajadas Bakery & Restaurant at 45-18 104th St. in Corona, Queens. More here.
• Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Council’s Public Housing Committee will hold an oversight hearing on work order practices at NYCHA, including developments under private management as part of the PACT program. More here.
• Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on General Welfare will meet regarding several bills related to the CityFHEPS rental voucher program, including those aimed to reform apartment inspection and approval process. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet regarding the following land use applications: 158-06 Northern Boulevard Rezoning, 21-31 46th Ave Rezoning, Cali Tajadas Bakery & Restaurant sidewalk cafe, 1455 Coney Island Avenue and 135-27 Sapphire Street Rezoning. • Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Land Use will vote on the following land use applications: 815 Hutchinson River Parkway Rezoning, Cali Tajadas Bakery & Restaurant sidewalk cafe, 862-868 Kent Avenue, 158-06 Northern Boulevard Rezoning, 132 Melrose Street Rezoning and 21-31 46th Ave Rezoning. The committee will also meet regarding a bill to repeal certain building setback restrictions along Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, from Ralph Avenue to Bushwick Avenue. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will review the following projects: South Richmond Designated Open Space Amendment, 680-684 Van Duzer St. Renewal, and 35 Douglas Court Renewal. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.: NYCHA’s board will hold its monthly meeting. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz’s office and NYC Department of Finance will offer assistance with enrollment in the SCRIE and DRIE rent freeze programs. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 2:30 p.m.: Rainforest Action Network will host a panel discussion on how rising insurance costs and denials is impacting the housing sector in the face of climate change. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.: Cooper Square Committee will host a town hall about community land trusts, how they work and how New Yorkers can get involved in the land trust movement. More here.
• Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m.: The Department of City Planning will hold a community workshop about the South of Prospect Neighborhood Plan, which aims to bring housing, jobs and investments south of Prospect Park in Brooklyn. More here.
• Thursday, September 24, 6 to 8 p.m.: Empire State Development will host a public scoping meeting on the next phase of the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park project in downtown Brooklyn. More here.
• Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Citadel of Praise and Worship in Brooklyn will host a panel discussion and community event, “Legacy at Risk: Protecting Black Property and Wealth in Brooklyn.” More here.
• Monday, Sept. 28, 6 to 8 p.m.: Several Brooklyn elected officials and local groups will host a community forum on the plans to redevelop the Brooklyn Marine Terminal (BMT) and how it could benefit the area. More here.

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.

• 624 Metropolitan Avenue Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $132,069 – $198,510 (last day to apply is 9/22)
• 1718 Crotona Park East Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $75,703 – $168,320 (last day to apply is 9/22)
• 1349 Commonwealth Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $95,383 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 9/24)
• 917 Home Street Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $84,960 – $122,160 (last day to apply is 9/28)
