Upcoming housing and land use-related events:
- Tuesday, April 28 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s General Welfare Committee will meet regarding several bills related to the city’s homeless outreach policies, including during extreme weather events. More here.
- Tuesday, April 28 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Civil and Human Rights will hold an oversight hearing on early implementation of the city’s “Fair Chance” laws, which prohibit most employers and landlords from rejecting applicants based on past involvement in the criminal justice system. - Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Public Housing will hold an oversight hearing on the role of NYCHA in the city’s affordable housing agenda. More here.
- Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will vote on a proposal to convert an existing 17-story commercial building at 101 Franklin St. to a 21-story mixed-use building with 72 apartments. The Commission will also hold public hearings on the following land use applications: 164th Street Rezoning, 50-20 108th Street Rezoning, 63-02 Fresh Pond Road Rezoning, and 2950 West 24th St Rezoning. - Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m.: NYCHA’s board will hold its monthly meeting. More here.
- Wednesday, April 29 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet about the following land use applications: St. Francis Prep Commercial Overlay, 9201 4th Ave Rezoning, and 46 Nelson Street Rezoning II. More here.
- Wednesday, April 29 at 11:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Land Use Committee will meet. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
- 2951 Wallace Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $81,326 – $140,000 (last day to apply is 4/28)
- 1435 East Gunhill Road Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $81,875 – $116,640 (last day to apply is 4/29)
- 22 Frost Street Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $124,732 – $168,480 (last day to apply is 4/30)
