  • Thursday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m.: Lead Dust Free is hosting a press conference on the steps outside of City Hall, sharing information on the dangers of lead and advocating for legislation to be passed. For more information or to join, contact jodiel@coopersquare.org
  • Thursday, Aug 11 at 11 a.m.: The Fair Chance for Housing campaign is holding a rally on the steps of City Hall to push for legislation that would prohibit housing providers from turning away potential tenants for having conviction records. [More Here] 
  • Thursday, Aug. 11 at 4 to 5 p.m.: Vocal NY’s Homeless Union Assembly will share information on how to build statewide collective power, demand change, and fight homelessness. [More Here] 
  • Thursday, Aug. 11 at 7 to 8:30 p.m.: This virtual event entitled  “Climate Justice & Housing Justice: Green Social Housing for All” will offer training and political education about housing affordability, evictions and more. [More  Here]

  • Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 6 to 8 p.m.: The HPD Property Management Series will focus on rental discrimination, harassment, and how to protect yourself under human rights laws. [More Here] 

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon 

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week:
