Payment for deliveristas is an equation and you can’t change one factor in an equation without affecting the rest. If you thought the salary would change but nothing else would then you were wrong. Customers know you got a big raise and many will tip less. And the whole practice of tip bidding to get a delivery person to do their job was a bad one anyway. You wanted a higher guaranteed hourly wage and you got one.

If New York is so bad, leave.

People used to be ashamed of working dead end jobs. Now this generation proudly embraces these types of jobs as a career choice. Good luck to a future America in which young people no longer aspire to become doctors, teachers, lawyers, white collar workers, blue collar workers or entrepreneurs.
