Opinion: Post-COVID NYC Needs Bike Lanes and Electric Microbility

    All funding must be focused on saving bus and subway mass transit.

    Mopeds, t-scooters and bicycles chiefly benefit the young and affluent.
    Also disappointing to see that this discussion makes no mention of transportation needs of those with disabilities.

    completely agree with Jen. Until all NYC residents have access to effective mass transit, we should not be diverting critical funding to bike lanes. There should be no transit deserts in NYC if we are seeking equity.

    I live in N.Y.C.. There is a a recklessness, and a disregard for traffic laws from most bicycle riders, e bikes, e scooters, etc.
    Either they don’t know existing traffic laws or don’t care. Also to include bicycles of all types on the sidewalk
    As a pedestrian, crossing every street is like going into combat.
    There needs to be more education of traffic laws, and some enforcement of the same. Neither exist as of now.
