The NYC Gowanus Rezoning Environmental Impact Statements a pure work of fiction.
It hard to believe that when the rest of the world is preparing for global sea rise and climate change the De Blasio administration is in denial.
The DEIS did not evaluate the scientific data and sees no impact of climate change . Give us a break! The Gowanus Rezone is proposing to building 33 story buildings along the banks of a EPA Superfund site that flooded during Hurricane Sandy. In fact there are 110 toxic sites in the 80 block rezoning area. They are planning on bringing 20,00 new residents into a toxic flood. The are science deniers and would have burned Galileo at the stake.

What a mess this is – all brought on by Councilman Lander. DO NOT VOTE FOR LANDER!!! He would place the most helpless of old people and single parent families who are poor on one of the most polluted sites in America (EPA ranked the Gowanus as number 14 worst Super Fund sites in the entire US). Sure, put poor people and seniors there and shut the door on them! Disgusting. This site MUST be fully cleaned before housing is placed on it. Period, done, finished-discussion. Make all the retail outlets that won’t come back and all the office towers that are shrinking their workforce and many opting to remain at home – THOSE ARE READY LOW AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPTIONS RIGHT NOW! Lander just wants the money flowing from the developers and construction trades to line the pockets of his campaign.
