Upcoming housing and land use-related events:
- Monday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m.: Several Red Hook elected officials and community groups will hold a community forum on redevelopment plans for the Brooklyn Marine Terminal site. More here.
- Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 9 a.m.: The Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet regarding several land use applications, including a developer’s bid to demolish a garage at 27 East 4th St. in the NoHo Historic District Extension to construct an eight-story commercial building. The project has faced opposition because of its proximity to the Merchant’s House Museum next door. More here.
- Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m.: The City Council’s Committee on Fire and Emergency Management will hold an oversight hearing on emergency response efforts in the Rockaways and other “geographically isolated” neighborhoods. More here.
- Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.: Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City, Inc. will host an online webinar “Estate Planning: Protecting Your Home for Future Generations.” More here.
- Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m.: The Parks Department will hold an online event to get community feedback on possible programming at the new recreation center being built as part of the affordable housing development at 388 Hudson St. More here.
- Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m.: The Mamdani administration will hold a “NYCHA in Your Neighborhood” event, where public housing residents can meet with city officials, at the Gerard Carter Community Center at Stapleton Houses (230 Broad St., Staten Island). Doors open at 6 p.m. More here.
- Thursday, Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m.: Councilmember Crystal Hudson’s office will host a housing resource fair at Medgar Evers College. More here.
- Thursday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.: The Department of Housing Preservation and Development will hold an online workshop for faith-based organizations interested in providing affordable housing. More here.
- Monday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.: The City Planning Commission will hold a public review session; the agenda has not yet been posted. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
- 917 Home Street Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $84,960 – $122,160 (last day to apply is 9/28)
- 2905 West 17th Street Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $63,258 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 9/29)
- 936 College Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $76,629 – $122,160 (last day to apply is 9/30)
- 34-38 30th Street Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $106,560 – $198,510 (last day to apply is 9/30)
- 1052 Willoughby Avenue Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $78,960 – $122,160 (last day to apply is 10/1)
