Upcoming Housing and Land Use-Related Events:

  • ALL WEEK: Online voting is now underway for tenants at NYCHA’s Hylan Houses, who can choose between one of three funding models for their development. Tenants can vote online through Dec. 12, as well as in person starting on Tuesday, Dec. 3. More here.
  • Monday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.: The City Planning Commission will review a number of land use applications, including a modified version of the mayor’s City of Yes for Housing Opportunity plan, the One45 for Harlem project and a plan to redevelop the former Lincoln Correctional Facility site in HarlemMore here.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m.: The NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet. More here.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m.: The New York State Assembly’s Standing Committee on Housing will hold a hearing on challenges experienced by the Mitchell-Lama program. More here.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will vote on the following land use applications: 438 Concord Avenue, Gleason Funeral Home Commercial Overlay and 975 Nostrand Avenue. More here.
  • Thursday, Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m.: The City Council’s Committee on Aging will vote on bills requiring the city to produce plans on how New Yorkers can age in place, and on Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs). More here.
  • Thursday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m.: The City Council is expected to vote on a modified version of the mayor’s City of Yes for Housing Opportunity proposal. More here.
  • Thursday, Dec. 5 6 to 8 p.m.: The NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development and Councilmember Kristy Marmorato will host a tenants resource fair at Bronx House, 990 Pelham Pkwy South. More here.
  • Saturday, Dec. 7, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The West Side Neighborhood Alliance and Housing Conservation Coordinators will hold their annual Tenants Conference, which will include a mayoral forum on housing. More here.

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
