The Meth Myth: A Drug that's Always on its Way

It’s now 2020…. I bet those numbers have changed significantly. In fact, I’ll venture to say that had Congress, the DEA, local law enforcement AND the American people taken this looming threat a bit more seriously, we most certainly wouldn’t be seeing the masses of drug addicted 40 somethings wandering around looking for cigarette butts to smoke off the ground and THEIR children now in their early to mid twenties wouldn’t be wondering where their parent, be it Mom or Dad, is and if they’re ok. Praying to God they don’t get mugged or even commit a crime themselves in between sleeping in the park while it’s raining…
The 80’s were the decadent years without a doubt. Self indulging, hard partying teenagers and young adults dressed like glammed up women (all of us looked the same) pushed our bodies and brains to the absolute limit. Some of us got out alive. Some are still alive but you almost can’t distinguish them from the departed. Our leadership, while handsome and cute as a button all wrapped up in a pretty ribbon, the Reagan’s pranced around with rose colored glasses on while giving epic speeches as Russia tore down the wall and encouraging our young people to “Just Say No’ in hopes there was a large enough broom to sweep this under the proverbial rug just so everyone was present at the Thanksgiving table. It was a farce to say the least. Our parents coming from the era of gee gosh Wally and Happy Days-the age of innocence, didn’t have a clue nor a hope in hell on how to deal with our generation..GenX they called us I guess because we went the extra mile in the destruction of our lives while our parents laughed nervously at dinner parties when asked about us. The only River they knew was DeNial and nobody had a paddle.
In retrospect our false upbringing did more damage then we’ll ever truly know. Now our kids, God save them, have access not only to meth but things like Klonopin and Percocet pills as if they were tic-tacs becoming addicted to opioids thusly moving on to heroin. Why? Because it’s cheaper and easier to get then a burger through a drive through window. And they’re dying. In droves. Wake up America- wake up world. Spend those earmarked dollars on SOMETHING that will actually work and now snot nosed reports about how everything is just dandy out here because it ain’t
