    This quote caught my eye:
    ——–
“I have been to too many of these meetings where 80 to 90 percent of the room are against the plans of rezoning but still votes are being passed ‘no with conditions,’ ‘yes’,” said Juan Peralta, a member of the Justice Center.
    ——–
Anyone who has been part of the sham “workshops” or any other meetings related to the Inwood rezoning can definitely identify with the above sentiment. If the city wants to run roughshod over everyone, fine, but don’t pretend that you’ve engaged the community or reflected their input when the process has been so unbelievably one-way. Be transparent that you are burning the zoning book and executing plans driven by politics rather than normal urban planning principles.

EXACTLY!! Another project; also in Viverito’s district in The South Bronx, is taking parkland promised to the community, to build two giant towers if “mixed-use” Housing.

      You can’t really stop gentrification.

Sorry to say, the fix is in. The fix is always in. REBNY owns NYC. Time for rougher, tougher action by citizen-taxpayers.

    Washington Heights and Inwood residents:

There is still time to do the right thing, use your legal “write in” vote and vote for Josue Perez for City Council District 10 on election day. He did very well in the primary and can hopefully be our new and truly progressive representative. He is firmly against the Inwood rezoning, the Inwood Library destruction “affordable housing” farce, and the fake Democrats of the IDC. Remember our current councilman chairs the council’s transportation committee and Uptown subway service has never been worse.Your vote can make the difference!
    THERE ARE NO SMALL ELECTIONS
