FYI: The comptroller’s office announced yesterday that the city spends 16 cents of every tax dollar on debt service today, and warned that if debt continues to grow at the current pace we will be paying a whopping 20 cents on the dollar in four years. Debt per capita has grown at more than twice the rate of inflation and tax revenue in the last decade. [12/6/02]
