Revel is responsible for the condition of it’s equipment but is not responsible for the driving skills of it’s customers.

Well validated with good points & ideas. City involvement will make it less “an enjoyable convenient experience” as I personally get using one when I need to get around, & safely I may add, helmet on, & following all traffic rules as if I were a car.
I believe it will work if new rules are implemented, ex; all riders must have clean drivers license along with a motorcycle license/permits will also be permissible.
If riders do not possess a motorcycle license/permit requirements will be mandatory ride class covering safety, rules, & regulations completed, with 3rd party approval, If rider has motorcycle permit, mandatory class should cover fundamental basics.
Rider should be responsible for payment on class.

Sorry, but no amount of training will make Revel safe–and yes they are responsible for their riders’ idiocy. In the short time Revel was in Manhattan, I saw several scooters (some with a passenger) riding on sidewalks at 20 mph. When I complained to one, I was cursed. This is on top of the ebikes that regularly ride the sidewalks, along with the regular bikes. Add any form of transportation that can be ridden on sidewalks and it will. Revel knows this will happen, they know the City does not enforce any rules, so that makes them responsible. (And the lawsuits against Revel make it clear to Revel that they bear responsibility). Pedestrians are living in fear of automobiles, bicycles, ebikes, and scooters. NYPD never enforces any rules for bicycles, ebikes, or scooters–only automobiles, and only occasionally. So it’s a free-for-all out there, and the City Council keeps promoting more ways to create chaos on the sidewalks. Let’s hope Revel and other scooter companies are never allowed back.

It’s nice when someone brings clear and unbiased solution to a problem to the table.

Communists you are. You will overregulate yourselves to the point that all normal people leave your armpit city.
