Thank you for this article, one nit-picky, but important correction. Parks did jot extend Big Reuses listens for 6 months in response to the City Council oversight hearing. Instead, they issued a press release telling everyone what they have decided to do BEFORE the oversight hearing even took place. It would have been logical to listen, then respond, but instead, Parks took an offensive stance by issuing their version and positioning themselves as some sort of savior, when actually they did just what you said, kicked the can 6 months down the road.
I’m looking to the scoping meeting when they presumably will be soliciting public opinion. While they aren’t required to take any public comments into consideration before submitting a design to the local community board, I’m sure the project manager for Parks will incorporate the communities ideas and comments as anything less would be foolhardy.
