Great catch! I can’t imagine my public utilities being run like NYCHA!

How would a state takeover of the utility work? Would we just pay $15 Billion to take it over as a state agency? Then their problems would become our problems more than ever.

Really, you want the mta or nycha to run the power grid? Public administered anything is way worse than the worst private company. Every single example ever in this country is your proof.

Every single example? NASA that put a man on the moon? The U.S. military that won World War II, the Gulf War? The FBI? The NYPD that helped reduce crime by incredible amounts? The FAA that oversees the safest air transportation system in the world. The public health system that beat back diseases like smallpox and polio? The TVA that electrified a huge swathe of the country’s interior? The FDNY? The National Park System? The WPA, CCC and other New Deal programs that built critical infrastructure and put hundreds of thousands of out-of-work people to work? Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, which brought millions of elderly Americans out of poverty? Yes, you’re right. Government’s record is nothing but failure. We should put Enron or Wells Fargo in charge.
