    It’s junk food but if people like it you can’t stop them from eating at those places.

    A banner which used to hang in front of an East Harlem McDonalds says it all: “Feed your family for $5.” For thousands of low-income families, it is not about convenience. It’s about affordability.

    Plus, even though high fat, high sugar, and carb-loaded foods are more unhealthy, they fill the tummy and children eat happily. Comfort food is called that for a reason.

    There’s more to this topic than the article implies.

      There’s science to prove that high-fat, high-sugar, carb-loaded foods do not fill the tummy. The idea that unhealthy food is more affordable is a misconception.
