Inept NYC government response. Sewer backups can be reported online at the link below. It might help a little to report backups online because you can give more details regarding the complaint. Save the service request numbers and give the info to your councilmember. It can’t hurt.

Because oof tthe general nature and specificity with the
field of plumbing a normal homeowner cannot
know precisely what is required to maintain or repair your entire plumbing system on the property.

Add enough wafer on the tub or shower so the head of the plungr is submerged,
and hold a wet washcloth tightly contrfary to thee overflow holes over
the spout. Try to avoid this by nnot dropping items of soap
in the drain – Most experts have claime that if yyou pour boiling water into the drain of one’s
bathtub once every 4 weeks, it may help in stopping any clogs from occurring.

our entire bedroom was flooded at 1474 Bushwick Avenue both bottom floor apartments and everything in the storage unitl we just rented just days ago.

we were told contact our renters insurance for payment. that is just craziness after also being told it hasnt happened in a while in this building. the neighbors stated that it has been 5 times within the past couple years.

Waht can we do to force the city to comply. I have had this problem for 20 years – sewage backup after rainfalls. It is costly stressful and dangerous.

The city is negligent in creating a sewage system that can manage rainfall.
