Children in their 20s and 30s should not be playing with guns, whether they are black, brown or white. They should be taken away from them and the DeBlasio adminstration’s patronizing approach to communities of color should be seen for what it is…tacit approval that disputes can be addressed with weapons in all communities, and that black on black violence is OK. It is truly a disgrace that the wonderful Norwood neighborhood that I grew up in the 1970s is now home to killings, etc. I used to deliver newspapers on that very block and hung out at Stoobie’s deli now bodega on Hull and 209th. The communities that occupy these neighborhoods now had better get their acts together, because these types of problems cannot be addressed by the government, the police, or the schools. And I am getting sick of watching it get worse and worse. Current policies are not working.
