Upcoming Housing and Land Use-Related Events:

  • Friday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.:  Updates on NYC Housing Court will be presented during a virtual meeting presented by Citywide Supervising Judge Jack Stroller. Updates include returning to in-person operations, how Right to Counsel works and what services are available for pro se litigants. Register here.
  • Monday, Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m.: Property owners will protest in support of landlords’ rights  outside of Gov. Hochul’s office at 633 3rd Ave. in Manhattan.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m. The Landmarks Preservation Commission will hold a public hearing by teleconference about Brooklyn and Manhattan properties. More here.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: HPD’s Outreach Van, in partnership with NYC Council Member Charles Barron, will be located at University Settlement Day Care in Brooklyn to provide information housing-related issues such as preparing  to apply for affordable housing, understanding your rights and responsibilities, and filing a housing complaint.   • Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A is hosting an online zoom workshop, “Protecting Your Home from Foreclosure,” sponsored by Councilmember Nantasha Williams. Attorneys will provide useful tips on how to defend your biggest asset. Register here.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6 to 8 p.m.:  HPD is holding a virtual class providing information about the Affordable Housing Lotteries available through NYC Housing Connect. More here.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Council’s committee on public housing will hold an oversight hearing about resident engagement and outreach. More here.
