I am happy justice has be done for the Home health aids (HHA). It is indeed a very hard job. I am a care giver for my Mother. She is 79 years old with Parkinson, Alzheizmer and hydrocephalus (water in the brain), so I do know is a hard job. HOWEVER the government shoud investigate AS WELL how unprofessional, ignorant and in some cases EVEN ILLITERATE a big percentage of home attendants are. Agencies hire people who definetely are irresponsable with time, who are mentally unstable, who cannot run a basic errand for the patient over the phone because lack of ENGLISH LANGUAGE or in some cases lack of common sense even in their own language. Who are on the phone reading texts and have their minds in their own concerns instead of taking care of the patient – not only physically- but talking to the elder and caring not just putting the tv on while they are on the ph following up on their OWN SNAP CASE. These things mentioned are only few and the percentage of those “professionals” HHA who do them is very high. It is NOT one rotten apple among a GREAT BASKET OF FRUITS. Unfortunately is the other way around, 6 good HA’s among 20 unprofessional HA’s. My Mom went through 2 agencies and the characters we had in our home have been very unpleasant, uncomfortable and only care about THE PAYCHECK. We had around 10 EXCELENT HA’s (permanent and back ups) since 2015 until now (almost 8 years) AMONG a majority WAY TOO MANY who stole from us (food, even detergent!!), who hit my Mother (when my Mom was able to walk), who had personal problems and said she was going to commit suicide, others who sat down and did NOTHING for hours, or fell asleep, or play video games in their ph or did a mediocre fast house keeping job to finish soon and remain seated the rest of the hours. ALL THESE ISSUES WERE REPORTED through the years but agencies just change and rotate them so another household/elder has to go through those issues as well.. Agencies cover their backs with Sunday words (verbatim) when you call and report these things. They tell the HA what the client complainted about and after 3 months send them again as a sub/back up – obviously that person comes with a passive/agressive attitude. I can go on and on and on. The lack of consistent communication and excelence from agencies, and the majority of their employees cause stress to patient’s children, to the elder and makes a home a tense place to be at. A lot of them do NOT wear the Id, or keep up with the covid boost vaccine lately. IT IS DISGUSTING! Not even giving details about the hygene and smell of fried foods in their clothing.

Ukraine is currently at war and thousands of innocent people are dying, who simply lived in their own country and did their usual things. Russia has declared war on Ukraine and is killing civilians. To read true information or help Ukraine go to the site.

Thanks for the article, I wanted to familiarize myself with the topic of disputes, but I read the blogs of Vitaliy Klymenko, Editor In Chief in Slotamia, and forgot. In a broader context, dispute resolution and ongoing legislative efforts in New York reflect a growing awareness of the relationship between labor rights, fair compensation, and access to essential health care services. As the home health care industry continues to evolve, attention to ethical standards, legal compliance, and fair compensation for workers plays a key role in creating a sustainable and compassionate care environment for both providers and recipients.
