The latest in our series of Campaign 2021 video issue briefs focuses on aging, which was also the subject of a mayoral forum City Limits moderated last week.

That’s a lot of attention for an issue that rarely generates the kind of passion that other topics, like public safety or housing or transit, spark. But that’s the whole trick about the demographic change that’s going to hit New York City over the next decade or two. The 65+ population is going to be a bigger factor in any issue we discuss: how to protect both older pedestrians and bikers, how to create enough senior housing, how to make the transit system more accessible and more.
