The Parkchester 6-train station was a hub of activity this morning, as politicians, firefighters, and teams of volunteers shouted last-minute encouragement to vote in today’s primaries.
Annabel Palma, incumbent councilwoman for District 18, greeted voters with handshakes and waves. Behind her, a team of staff and volunteers handed out fliers with the councilwoman’s information.
Palma is feeling confident about today’s results. “I am getting a great response from the voters.”
Though many commuters rushed by, some greeted Palma with friendly waves, hugs, and words of encouragement.
Alongside her was Assemblyman Luis R. Sepúlveda, shouting endorsements for Palma for Councilwoman and de Blasio for mayor.
At the entrance to the metro station, firefighters from the Bronx’s 7th Division held signs advocating for Bill Thompson.
Palma herself endorses Christine Quinn. “I think she’s definitely a change from Bloomberg. I’ve gotten to know her well over the past ten years and she says what she means and she does what she says.”
It was Palma’s second stop on her daylong campaign tour of District 18. Earlier this morning, she stopped to greet voters, thank poll volunteers, and cast her own ballot at 259th McGraw Avenue.
