Those who voted for Mayor DeBlasio destroyed all the gains made by Mayor Giuliani in fighting crime in the city. You need another mayor like Giuliani, who was tough on crime.

It is undeniable that de Blasio has a different approach to fighting crime than did Giuliani. But it is baseless to suggest he has destroyed all the gains made by Giuliani or by Bloomberg. Even in the 79th and 81st precincts, which (as the article reports) are notable for a recent spike, we are likely to see vastly less index crime there this year that in Giuliani’s final year in office.

People have tried for five years to paint a picture of growing disorder under de Blasio that is nothing but a lurid fantasy. It is time to find a new talking point. The guy offers plenty of other stuff to critique. Move on, friends.
