As a founding member of the Vanguard ,and brother Vann’s initial campaign chair, allow me to commend you for such an astute analysis of Al Vans political career. It is my contention ,that when the history of the Civil Rights Movement is comprehensively written , it will reveal that Al Van and the movement he organized was most assuredly one of its most astute and profound leaders.

Hello, I am a Black educator who is looking to speak to Al about his work for an oral history project I am working on. I am also an organizer. Please let me know how I can get in contact with Al. His story, and the stories of Claire Pearce are ever more relevant today as Charter schools begin to take over and colonize district schools.
