I’m in a domestic violence shelter and I’m being harassed by the guards that’s suppose to make sure I’m safe and at peace smh but that’s definitely not the case and the more I report situations that has happened or is happening to the two head person in charge the worse things get for me and my children once they leave for the day or weekend. I just feel like I’m in a building full of snakes there’s no justice and I’m never gonna be at peace or safe this is overwhelming.

That’s just it they are hoping all of us are too scared to follow through. it is when we all stand together and push back is when it will start to change. with every bad situation to make it good comes uncertainty and fear, along with some form of being uncomfortable and we may even receive some more abuse, but I’ll tell you what I would rather stick up for myself and have a voice than to allow them to trample over me or my kids, or anyone else!!! The problem is no one around us that lives with us helps either, they watch and they do nothing, if people start stepping in when they see wrong done to you and your kids it will change more. It will just get worse if you allow them to do this to you!!! I get it I been in a shelter since 2014, but I always stand up for myself no matter what and they all know it, and I have had retaliation, and I filed complaints and had to confront them with my complaints face to face and I still did it, why? Because one thing no one will ever take from me is my voice and my freedom, and my civil rights!! We all have rights! If you are still in a shlter and you need help reach out to me Ill help you I will stand up for you! Anytime!! Do not allow anyone to do this to you!! [email protected]

I’m dealing with retaliation at my shelter. I have notes. I went to Ombudsman and now I’m being retaliated against. I don’t think I can stay on this side of the grave much longer.

Anyone that is in a shelter is a human being with rights. We all have rights!! Do not let them scare you document everything, write down names, times, and everything that happens keep a logbook, take your phone and record them. post it to the internet, go to DHS, Go to the mayor, the governor, go to the news, keep it moving do not stop! No one has the right to mistreat you because you are homeless. If anything you should be treated with respect and care. we are going through enough we do not need to be mistreated by the very people that are put there to protect us. You need to keep your voice, stand up for yourself, the retaliation may come, but report that to, and people do not stand there and watch while others are getting abused step in step up, it will only help all of us if we do this!! I have filed complaints, transferred, retaliated against, had my support animal removed illegally, had my housing paperwork go missing for over a year, I confronted every single one though and I never allowed them to take away my voice or my rights!! If you can not do it reach out to me I’ll help anyone of you! It would be my pleasure! Do not give up on yourself, your rights! We are human too, and we deserve respect and care, and to not be scared where we lay our heads! [email protected]

    Good evening ,
I would appreciate some help locating a relative who commented about living in a shelter and the abuse that goes on. His name is Mr. Curt conliffe-Berkley. I would like to know if he is okay.
    Thanks
