This report fails to address HPD built condos and coops. What about the residents who purchased units and have construction defects due to poor oversight by HPD and their sponsored developers? Homeowners who have been left with millions of dollars of repairs.

We love that HPD sees improvements of course in their eyes. What about doing a survey of the residents of HPD buildings and hearing it from HPD tenants. Of course, HPD wants to make themselves look good in light of all the various HPD bad press over the years with contractors, commissioners getting taking away by the FBI, and other corruption stories.

This article is quite biased towards HPD – it’s an article about their opinion of their own performance, as the title says. It’s shocking that the only housing advocate quoted, the person at ANHD, is defending landlords, claiming that slumlordism isn’t “rampant.” It’s disappointing that there’s not a balanced perspective.
