WIOA & the New York City Landscape:
Changes, Implications, and Promising Practices for Program Execution-NEW

101 Training Track | One-Day Course

The workforce development field has recently experienced a major event with the passage of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) – the first legislative reform of the public workforce system in more than 15 years. The field as we know it will embark on a more ambitious workforce mission, now focused on preparing an educated and skilled workforce and meeting the workforce needs of employers.

The enactment of WIOA will necessitate major shifts in program operation and will impact how employment and training services are aligned, executed and measured. This training is designed to ensure that local workforce organizations are prepared for implementation and will provide participants with the overarching goals of WIOA, its changes and implications, and promising practices for program execution.

Upon completion of this course, participants will:
Understand how WIA and WIOA differ;
Understand performance metrics aligned with varied Titles of WIOA;
Know the timeline for implementation and tools to promote improvement in the structure and delivery of services;
